I promised more, and here it is. Once again, Cuthead blends the finest bits from hiphop, dubstep, and house, and melds them all together in the most amazing slo-mo mind melting fashion you could imagine…

And while Nero and co are expecting you to shell out a tenner for the same album they brought out last year, but with different vocals and even more annoying cliche chainsaw bass all over it ‘because that’s what the kids want’, Cuthead is producing quality music, FOR FREE…

Continuing on from the last post, here’s another guy that I think deserves to be more widely known… Around 2008/2009, a couple of tracks by Cuthead cropped up on last.fm, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were freely available for download… After a brief investigate, I found they were from an album called Murdoc, 20 tracks of squelchy glitched out hiphop, electro and half tempo bassy dub type joints..

Last year Cuthead released another album, called City Slicker, another amazing collection rammed full of 23 mind meltingly tweaked out tunes, I’ll be making a post on that pretty soon…

I stumbled aross this guy on mySpace (remember that?) and was absolutely blown away by the track he had up on his player. I sent him a message, and soon after that he sent me what was to be one of my favourite albums of all time. Since mySpace turned into the most horrid piece of crap ever to grace the internet, I lost contact, although that album was still *the* one I put on whenever I wanted to chill.

So there I was, half watching ‘The Omega Man’, with Charlton Heston (actually i was watching it with my girlfriend, but Charlton heston’s in it…) and a little bit of music sparked a tiny bell of recognition… Sure enough, one of the odd spoken word samples from Crookram’s album followed and it jolted me into action. A quick google cropped up his website, http://www.crookram.net and a quick email to him and we’re back in action. Amazingly enough the afformentioned album is available for free download, but also lo and behold there is a new collection of tracks, and unlike Dj Shadow and RJD2 to name but two, this album is equally full of brilliance…
